Q) How long does my audition last?
A) Auditions should be one song in length or upto five minutes.
Q) What do I do if I need a backing track?
A) Bring your backing track along with you on a USB drive on the day. If you do not have a USB drive you can play a track on your phone, however it MUST NOT be from Youtube/online and must be an offline track already on your phone.
Q) Do I need to dress up for the audition?
A) Not strictly, however you will be judged based on your presentation overall, so it is best to dress to impress!
Q) How old do I need to be to perform?
A) Any ages are welcome to perform. However if you are under 16 you must have an adults permission as well as an adult with you on the day.
Q) What will I be judged on?
A) You will be judged on a number of catagories. Presentation, originality and enthusiasm will all be scored alongside other catagories to give you a total score out of 100. The highest scores in each category will move forward to the final.
Q) When will I know if I have been successful?
A) All applicants will be contacted after the second audition date (15th August) via email with confirmation of whether or not they were successful. If you are successful you will have to be available to come to the final on August 25th.
Q) I want to play an instrument, do I need to bring any equipment along?
A) The auditions will be stage ready. Just bring along your instrument and all relevant leads will be provided.
Q) When do I need to arrive for my audition?
A) For the last audition date (15th August @ The Old Courts, Wigan), doors open at 7:30pm. You can come along to audition at any time up until 9pm. This gives us plenty of time to get through all the acts of the night. Audience members are welcome to join us at any time throughout the night.
Q) Are there any rules?
You must live, work or be in education in Wigan to be considered. You can showcase any talent as long as it is suitable for a family audience. Under 16's must be accompanied by an adult. The judges decision is final and we reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone if we feel necessary.
